Oh God, what a mess, I feel bad for Joe...I wonder if it was an oil pump failure, or a bearing on the crank went ( was too tight); that big end sure got hot first. I hope he can get all the right parts together to rebuild it....
 
The theory is the bearing was too tight but the thing I’m a little skeptical about is why it would happen now and not all the other times it was on track. I would be more inclined to think it’s an oiling problem.

I’m sure he’ll get it back together hopefully the block and head are ok. That's the thing when you build a bad a$$ motor or go FI in a track car it’s only a matter of time before it goes. I really think my Next motor or car will have a totally stock motor, once the ST is retired from dally use In a few year I hope to make it my track beater I just have to keep the svt going till then.
 
I know it looks like heat or oiling are the obvious answers but could have the piston got cocked and wedged into the cylinder causing it to brake. I’m just thinking would heat really cause it to cease almost instantly? I’m not a motor builder so I really don’t know.

^^^ That is my leaning as well.

And no a piston cocking in the bore would just tear up the skirts of the piston or scuff up the cylinder wall..
 
Ouch Joe[:(] I hope he gets it up running and soon.

2 weeks later-still no bumper and still no word from Mike since last Wednesday.

Oh yeah, got laminx today and it's for the wrong foglights-I even told them it was for a SVT. Now I gotta send that back.

Thank god I'm in no hurry to get this done or I'd be f'd.
 
Ha I’m gather up brake rotors and deciding what ones to have turned , I have 2 spire sets of front’s an one set of rears. Don’t even ask how many set of brake pads I have.
