hey i just bought a bomz intake and in im having serious problems trying to put it together please someone help me?!?! i just cant seem to figure out where all the piping is suppose to go it seems like it doesn't fit right also im starting to think it wasnt even meant to be in my motor (lol) honeslty i have a 2001 zx3 and well idk help please im up two days trying to do this

i like reading about the near handicap people that arent mechanically inclined enough to just "make it fit", it makes my day if you cant figure out how to put an intake on without the instructions you shouldnt be taking anything off of your perfectly good running car

People will have trouble along the way no matter what brand you get-considering there were no instructions given. Some people learn by visual, some by word. I don't consider myself or Central to be handicapped because of this. So unless you can prove that you aren't, your parking spot is reserved upfront buddy.

Everyone on here knows the BOMZ is nothing but crap, it's a fact. You talk to anyone on here with a considerable amount of posts or go and talk to the mods, they all will tell you it's shit. This topic is always talked about on here, look at who posts good things about the BOMZ, a rookie usually with no other mods, very little modding experience with the focus, very little knowledge and also obviously hasn't read the hundreds of previous threads on here that it has been discussed on..... it's crap, it's ebay......

had one for almost a year, no performance problems, except for the 2 times i almost got hydrolocked, lower bracket broke, reinforced it with plumber's putty, then it broke again. Overall appearance is shit, ended up getting a MAC instead

Ok, let me get this straight. Some are willing to cheap out on a a very CRITICAL item of their engine, the AIR FILTER, and hope it won't fail or break (lot's of examples and horror stories it does) to save some coin.

So instead why don't you mix a bit of water with the gas and save that way too? The point is, you can cheap out on knock off lights, clear corners, antennas, but on the most expensive part of your car?!

Come on everyone, from what I'm reading the success ratio of this air filter is rather concerning, if it doesn't break or pop off it ingests water. Seems almost impossible to fit properly without modifications, and doesn't have any instructions.

I'd rather mix water in my gas.

Great post 2003whiteZTS and NR, yeah exactly, you said you almost got hydrolocked. Exact reason why NOT to buy the BOMZ. Don't believe me, when the same thing happens to you (you = whoever buys the BOMZ) and you actually do hydrolock the car, have fun spending the thousands to get the car going cause that ain't covered under warranty (that is if you actually do hydrolock, slim chance but it's there). Spend the extra $150 and get a REAL intake and let the problems disappear. For the record, I have experience with the BOMZ so I know what I am talking about....

I'd rather mix water in my gas, hell throw some sugar in there also, better yet, get some decaf in that mother@&@! *chris rock voice impersonation*....LOL

^^ lol

i just had my fuel pump recalled, it'll be in in a few weeks (the new one) the guys also said something about the IAF codes?! (i know its the maf) but i think its cus i ran my engine without the intake on for a bit (checking smethin in my garage and had the car on for a min) but, will that iaf code thing interfere with say a new MAC intake i would like to buy?

uuuummm guys, if u get an AEM intake its jus goin to hydro lock the motor too, The whole point on inventing the bypass valve was to prevent hydro lock so that nocks out another complaint of BOMZ, thats false............

Not true. The biggest complaint of the Bomz is that it breaks near the TB. Now you have no filtering, the bypass valve wouldn't do much there.

Also saying any CAI will hydrolock the motor is false. No one ever reported having water entering their engine with the ICEMAN intake.

All CAI's have the potential to hydrolock the engine. At least with the AEM, you don't have to go and check under the hood periodically to make sure you still have a CAI..... Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'.... damn that BOMZ is rollin'.......down the street......lol

So you believe the ICEMAN intake can hydrolock the engine? As far as I know, there has never been one incident with the ICEMAN.

The only way I see that happenning is if you try to drive in 4 foot of water. Any intake will take in water.

You can't hydrolock with the ICEMAN. If you think that could happen, then you could hydrolock with a VOLANT..... ain't going to happen, sorry......

The only way you can hydrolock with either of those is if you like driving in lakes....
