Hi everyone

I have to replace my rear wheel bearing (have drums) and have never done this before. Have any of you had the "pleasure" of doing this?

Is it hard? I ordered the bearing/hub assy from auto zone but it looks like the bearing and hub are attached to the drum. Is it hard to knock the old hub off and attached the new hub to the drum?

Really nervous about getting things taken apart and not getting back together again. Don't have a ton of $$$ and local shops are asking $300+ to fix the "hum" coming from my bad bearing.

Any help, tips, tricks or suggestions would be more than appreciated!

if you have to find a car manual it should tell you how to do it

i had mine (old zx3) changed at lee's auto parts store for few bucks they pressed the old out and put the new in...same thing in the svt i had bad rear wheel bearings and i did the same thing

to take the drum out is not hard at all either. take the wheel off and unscrew the bolt in the middle of the drum.. Then follow what crazy svt said. WEhen you put the drum back on the car I think the torque specified is 90lbs/in

Kj, it's easy. think it's a 30, maybe 32 mm bolt to take the drum off. will need a breaker bar. Sounds like you getting the bearing already pressed into the hub. Big time saver. If your bearing is really bad you can watch the needle bearings fall out when you remove the hub. The torque spec might be a little higher, closer to 143ft/lbs but I'd have to check again. There is a write up somewhere on here with the drum.

Were are you at in the city?

sorry dude, NOOO CLUEEE
