This has probably already been asked but has anyone put on the svt suspension kit on a stock focus. I have an 01 ZX3 and i was looking to convert to the SVT suspenision. The reason for this is because i want to have better handling but i cant go to low due to the winters here in michigan. What tools are needed and how hard is it to do yourself? Is is possible to do on jackstands or do i need a lift for this job. Thanks

Search tool is your friend. SVT suspension swap is usally the number one mod for a reg ZX3 greaty handling improvment and only about a 3/4 in. drop if that much.

The SVT suspension kits provide great bang for the buck. The rears are very easy to install. It takes more time to pull out the rear interior panels and replace them than the shock and spring install. The fronts are only a little more complicated. Spring compressors are needed to install the springs onto the shocks as they rarely come from the supplier assembled. It can be done on jack stands safely. A good long handled hydraulic jack along with some air tools makes things a lot easier but is not required. Instructions are posted on this site as well as at Focus Hacks.

thanks for alll the info

I just did on for my wife's car, nice firm ride, stays flat in the corners. With good tires I pulled enough lateral g's to make the cd player skip. I had a Ford place put it on to try to keep some resale value--nobody wants to by some "kids" tuner no matter how much of a car guy you are. I've put about 400 miles on it and love it. Glad I didn't go stupid low or firm.

'03 ZX3 for the euro wife, 380hp '64 Falcon Sprint for me :)
