since the first day i got my car ive been hearing this strange humming noise that only happens wen the opportunity arises to spin some tire lol...it onl hapens while the tires ae spinning but no other times...does anyone know wut this cud be? oh yeah and its an '05 ZX4 SE 2.0 Auto

Better be careful, the trans in your car isnt the best for taking punishment like that. If its a humming noise only when youre spinning a tire, its probably the spider gears in the differential. Thats a very bad sound if it is and youre probably headed for some trouble.

noo its not the tires, i dont have cruise control, and im not intentionally abusing it...ive only noticed it if i maybe spin in the rain or if its icy...hah i wish i had a tranny swap in my future, but the car is under warranty and im sure ford wudnt do that for me...but it looks like its gunna stay a mystery until something happens(if anything does) and then well find out if it is the diff. or if its something else...but i think im gunna have that checked out because its actually going into the shop soon cuz I think there is something wrong with my tranny, and im having that common vibration problem wen its in drive at a stand-still

yeaa thats wut it sounds like...but i dont have a light or a button anywhere for traction control...

now that i think about it though that cant be it because i dont have ABS and the teac contol system is integrated w/ the ABS, i believe

he doesnt have traction control...i agree with mike as its the differential or some other part in the tranny. My GM pickup made a similar noise and it was the differential

oooh greaattt...so thats 3 diff. problems i will be bring my car in with...the vibration while in drive at a stand-still, i think my tranny is slipping, and now the diff. is shot, the car only has 33k on it thi sis crazy...well thanks guys

hah, this is true, but i meant they wudnt do the 5 speed swap for me...if anything id begetting a new auto tranny

thanks for rubbing it in...but i didnt have much of a choice cuz it was a CPO and i had asked if they had any in 5spd but they didnt
