Well folks, the SVT's not a virgin to road debris anymore.
My wife and I were coming back home last night from Milwaukee. The driving wasn't that bad at all with all the crap weather that we've been having lately. The highway was pretty dry except for that football sized piece of concrete RIGHT THERE!!
I couldn't manuever around it because it just appeared out of nowhere and I had a couple of cars riding my flanks. Next thing ya know....Bammmm! The car bucked up a little bit and then I thought, oh shit there goes my header...
I pulled off as quickly as I could at the next exit with the car sounding like a P-51 Mustang at the first gas station that I saw.
So then I get out to check out the damage and man was I pissed! I saw my front o2 sensor dangling after getting smashed out of it's housing. The header was dented and broke, I'm mean SERIOUSLY, right at the flange that bolts up to the ORP. I could look straight down the ORP. The pisser is I just got that fricken thing put on less than a month ago![?|] [?|]
The fun doesn't end here folks......
The oil pan was punctured and oil sprayed all over the place underneath the car. I didn't know the hole was there at first until I tried to top off the oil level as a JIC measure. I heard something leaking and thought it was just snow falling out of the wheel wells but it was the quart of oil going straight to the ground as soon as I poured it in there.[

I called Milwaukee County Sheriffs Dept. and filed a complaint against the city for leaving huge pieces of shit like that on the highway and also told them that they're going to have take responsibility for all this. The cop was super cool about it and even came back twice while I waited for a flatbed to come. Which by the way, they never did come within the hour that they first quoted me. I had to call them back to get an ETA and they added another 45 minutes to that. By then the mother-in-law showed up in her Focus to pick us up and I had to leave my baby there overnight.
The towing company only had to haul the car 30 miles to the ford dealer closest to me and they fricken wanted to charge me $450 bucks!!!! Good thing that I waited because I found a place in town here that would do a round trip and delivery to the dealer for only $250.
So now my happiness is on it's way to the fix-it-shop for an exam and estimation. When it gets up on the lift and the dealership, I'm going to take pics of all the damage.
[bash] Stupid low hanging SVT headers......[bash]
