Well, I just got a grand total in damages, $3k's worth. Here's the list of parts needed

-SVT Header
-cat convertor (They really didn't say much about the ORP, they just have to return it to stock)
-flex pipe section
-oil pan
-new O2 sensors
-4 wheel alignment
-gaskets and bolts
-all necessary fluids

and the big mama......(drum roll, please...)

-a whole new rack and pinion setup

Good God, I wasn't expecting that one because the car was able to steer fine at that point in time, but who knows now...

So now the next is just me waiting for my Claims Agent to give me a call tomorrow so we can discuss things...

Oh man that sucks, but don't be hatin on Milwaukee or Cheese Country!!! [:D] I mean yeah ok, I'll admit...a lot of the roads in Milwaukee suck, but I've NEVER run into something like that on the freeway *knock on wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* Good God, the City had BETTER cover whatever your insurance doesn't cover man. That's just BS no matter what city, state or country you live in.

I'm sure they'll fight it. If it wasn't obvious enough that it was road material after a recent plow, I don't see how my insurance can't claim it's money back.

Now if it were a dresser or lawnmower, I wouldn't have a leg to stand on...lol

HOLY CRAP!! Same exact thing happened to me this morning except my object was a LARGE dead dog. I couldn't find any damage though. Sorry for such the big bust on your car!

I take back my last post. There is damage. Smashed the cat and broke O2 sensor. Only a 300-400 dollar fix on mine though. Just got check engine like half hour ago.

Here's some pics....

This first pic is of the damage header flange. You can also see one of the spots where the ORP collapsed in. Also note all of the oil that's on the oil pan...

Here's a shot of the ORP looking from back to front. Three dents in all and notice how the front of the ORP is compressed completely flat...

This is the ORP smashed up against the rack and pinion setup and hardlines for the powersteering. The R/P was out of alignment by almost a full inch.

Damaged flexpipe...

Image

Damaged crossmember that's being swapped out just in case.....

Once I get the car back and get another ORP, I might throw the cat up for sale....

Wow thats pretty nasty damage. I'd put up pix but the underside was pretty gross before the dealership cleaned her up.

damn dude, that sucks

actually, I just heard on the radio today that if you were in a construction zone in IL, you can go after the contracting company for damages, I don't know if that applies in your case, but I thought it was interesting

Did the officer file an accident report?
