Ok guys i'm getting ready to get a new set of tires for my baby and was wondering wat to go with? does any one have any recommendations? i'm looking to get some 205/50/15's unless i'm able to fit a 215/50/15 on my stock rims? and if so would any one recommend it? or would i be ok with a 205's? thanx guys for the help.

Yeah, give us your answers to those questions and we can help you a lot more [thumb]

if youre just looking for cheap ones to hold you over I have a set that will work for a good while (REALLY cheap).

im running 195's right now and the lateral grip is sub-par. 195/60 is a good sidewall height. not perfect, but good. 16" wheels with 205/50 would be better performers. 15" wheels with 205/50 are gonna be shorter than stock, giving you slower gearing and screwing up your speedometer. i believe 205/55 is the proper "plus one".

215 is a LOT to stretch over just 7 inches. I wouldnt do it for a daily driver.

How do you figure? The stock tire size on the SVT's (a 17"x7") is 215/45-17...so it's not a LOT to "stretch" over 7"...however, over 6" (the width of the stock 15" wheels), I wouldn't do it...I'd stick to a 205/55-15 or the stock 195/60-15 sizes...

ok i read the other thread. i do drive my car very aggressive, i like to take corners fast. so something with a some sticking power would be nice. the reason i wanna drop down to a 50 side wall is because i really like the way they look with a 50 series side wall, yes i know that the spedo will be off not to worried about that can get a tune to fix, i also know that the ride will be a rougher and that it will bump the gearing up a little. i also know that it will lower the car a little bit more. as for price i'm looking for the best bang for the buck. i also tend to track my car alot, every tuesday out at irp, and i'm wanting to start autox it this summer. thanx for the help guys if theres any thing else u guys need to know let me know.

I would look at the following:

Goodyear Eagle F1

Michilen Pilot

Kuhmo Ecsta

BF Goodrich

Your budget will dictate the rest, but these should suit your needs.

I would look for a set of used 16" wheels (or 17, but generally those are more pricey). it will be worth it.

BF Goodrich g-Force Sport

hands down. best "bang for the buck" since they will last you 20-25k miles and still keep you on the podium at the track.

and you will have to tell me more about these tuesdays at irp. lol

indianapolis raceway park - irp. they have tuesday night street legal. all it really is is a run what cha bring kinda thing. its fun. 1/4mile drag strip. i had a set of eaps and i just like the stock 15's better for some reason. i really wanna stay with the 15s.

BFG G-force sports will be the best bang for the buck by far, and they come in a very wide range of sizes to fit whatever size you decide to go with

khumo 711 is a great tire. I have 16x7 and they were &80 each.

ok guys so i finally ordered my tires, i was gonna go with fuzion zr1's all the way around but after comparing some prices with my parts guys i changed my mind. i ended up paying 318 for all four of my tires. and i'm putting falken Falken Ziex ZE-512 on the back, and falken Falken Azenis RT-615 on the front. both of them in a 205/50/15. let me know what you guys thank.

good combo, but you will be kicking yourself if you get uneven wear on them. I wouldnt have done that for a daily driver. But hey its your car.

expect to go through 2 pairs of rt-615's for each ziex-512.

Good Lord! [eek]
Is it too late to change your order?
That combo might work for the 1/4 mile, but it will be:
1) Horrible on the street, especially if you ever have to drive in the rain.
The 615s once worn down will not work well in the rain, and even when new will have much less grip than the rears.
You're going to be plowing into everything...curbs...trees...
2) That combo will be equally as bad on an AutoCross course.
The tremendously improved dry grip of the 615s over your rear choice will have you spinning out all over the place.

Exactly why do you want to use 2 completely different tires??
And...those 2 really couldn't be that much farther apart...
