Hey guys im pretty positive i know why it the piston melted when i took off my head gasket i was looking at it and notices 4 coolant hole were blocked and 1 oil was blocked because it never got stamped out i took pics.

(and i think i got the holes right when i was saying them it could be 4 oil and 1 coolant not sure correct me if im wrong)

sorry for some reason the 5th picture it will not let me upload on photobucket

Ford makes two different head gasket for the Ford focus zetec engines.
The XS7Z-6051-DA and the XS7Z-6051-CA both come up for the same car. Both are active part numbers still available. The DA looks like the one you had with the holes blocked off on it. The CA does not have those holes blocked off. I asked the Ford dealership the difference on those, but they showed both being for the same vehicle. They said the one to use depends on the engineering part number of the old head gasket. They could not tell me anything more.

Thos holes ARE NOT blocked off there there to slow the water down so it stays to absorb more heat into the water , If the water moves to fast it creates hot spots

For performance use I use the XS7Z-6051-CA with the wide open holes BUT both will work ok and they have nothing to do with your failure or oil
