You'll need a scanner to pull the code.

In the mean time, check your brake fluid. Sometimes, the light has been known to activate when the brake fluid is low.

Once again, pulling from memory...

When your replaced the bearing, was the ABS sensor attached? Is it possible that you could have damaged it during the install process?

the sensor ring can be seen here -

As far as I have ever found the SVT rear bearings only come with the complete hub assembly YS4Z-1A034-AA.

I would go to the Hilbish Ford section of the forum and confirm with B116Sir on that.

Good luck! [driving]

A couple of things:

1. You will need to pull the code. This is in essence to minimize the possibility of the ABS pump having a fault.

If there is no code, that doesn't completely rule out the ABS pump. Unfortunately, that's what I think we are leading up to at this point.

2. It may be another sensor. If one went south, then there is the liklihood/pissibility that others also failed.

When you say that you don't have ABS, does this mean that the wheels lock under braking or the wheels don't lock up and you still don't stop? That is to say that you don't get the shuddering or pulsation that is a physical indication that the ABS doesn't work?

i had the same problem when i had a rear bearing replaced. I brought it back to the dealer and sure enough, they had forgotten to install a seal, and that sets off the abs, they installed the seal and reset the code. Also my traction control light was on at the same time. make sure everything was installed correctly!

As much as I hate to say it, there may be a problem with the other hub sensor (s).

Just as a precaution and I know its a pain, but I would recheck the fuses.

After that, I would bite the bullet and take it to Ford.
