If it worth Porting or whatever.
Than it's worth buyin a cosworth TB+ Intake manifold and be done with it.
well... if you cant ever find the intake mani... then your stuck with just buying the $400 mistake.... wait i mean TB from cosworth...

but if you already have a dremel or the like... and have alittle skill... you can easily port your TB and see a few gains...

when im gone next week i may hand my TB over to my friend for him to port while im out.

I'm about to do this during my turbo build up (swapping the throttle plate). I've already ported it and cleaned the whole thing up, but I'm going to swap the plate with something quite thin, although I'm leaving the diameter stock size.

It would be cheaper, but as to how much hp it would give you, who knows?
let us know how it turns out.

I did it just recently and I noticed something on the butt dyno. The best gain is entering the highway, I can really gun it around people to the fast lane. All withing legal speed limits of course, I mean when you're entering the highway and the person in front of you is taking their time to get upto the speed limit. lol

Also, it's a great learning experience if nothing else.

I imagine it will drive differently. When I was running the 65mm FC one, you could tell it was different (really touchy).

This will be similar (with the thin blade in the stock size throttlebody), but what I am going for with the turbo is low impedance...and a more responsive car as it comes into boost.

I didn't see this post before, so it might be too late. But I ported mine months ago, and I really liked the increased responsiveness to pressing on the gas. As everyone usually points out, it's not a horsepower mod, it's just a responsiveness mod. That being said, I traded my modded TB to a friend, and he painted my headlights. Driving with a regular throttle body is killing me - I have to give it much more gas to get the acceleration I'm used to, both from a stop and just driving along. And my friend, Eazyrider_Tim, said that when he's just driving along, he's running at lower rpm's with the modded TB. Me, I'm porting my throttle body, again, this weekend!

i may have to do this one weekend with my new bluepoint (snapon) air grinder... just to say i have another mod... and ported sounds so much better than a replaced TB

i've been wondering, does anyone have pics of a ported tb? because...what exactly do you port? if you enlarge the area around the butterfly and it doesn't seal properly would that like, make it idle weird or not at all? lol someone shed some light[scratch]

when you port you try and smooth the air flow's surfaces more... i believe in the stock TB there is actually a bump in it for whatever reason... best thing to do is smooth that area out and just smooth everything out just alittle bit more to get the air flow in alittle easier... i wouldnt do anything around the butterfly... there should be enough meat else where to make a gain for response... the only thing i would do to the butterfly is try and sand it down as evenly as possible to try and get it thinner.
