Just wanted to do a poll on what everybody was using for forced induction in their focus. I've got a '02 zx3 MTX and I would just like to gather the opinions of those who have taken the route of using differen't methods of F/I.

So... What method are you using? (if you are!)

Also, if using a supercharger or turbocharger please specify which kit you are using and if you've had any problems with it...

Thanks! Any responses appreciated! [;)]

All three work well if you build them right. I happen to have all 3, and I like all of them, there are some kits that are better than others. If you surf around the FI section you will find tonnes of threads.

On my focus I have a NX wet kit, works very well, fun and easy, the ONLY problem with nitrous is an empty bottle.

well for overall reliability and performance for the buck... turbo? or supercharger? I know i'm beating a dead horse but I just want opinions from the people who have them and/or have driven both... worked on both ect,...

I hate the empty bottle, it makes me really sad, I kinda pieced my nitrous kit together, its mostly Edlebrock.

Turbo....

Roush converted to blowthrough and running a type rs bov, 11.5lb tunned by Tom. no complaints... love the power difference between it and the jrsc bbk. it is remarkable how much faster it is.

What is your hp/tq goal. HOw much money can u spend? Do you want the power always therte ot when you push a bottem, do you want your eng giving up power to make power or do you want free power (turbo) these are just some questions you have to ask yourself.

I've got a DIY turbo kit. I havn't driven a supercharged focus and have only driven mine home from Tom's, but from what I have experienced i love my turbo setup. When that boost kicks in around 3 grand it is a good feeling to say the least. I can't wait till I get a new clutch installed and get it back to Tom for him to finish tuning.

Turbo... a BIG F'n Turbo (GT3076-R).... wtih Methanol injection on top of it.

Since I finally gotten my intake manifold issues taken care of I have had no problems at all with reliability.

I'm supercharged. Not biased towards either. If I had more money I would have liked a nice turbo setup or a Procharger but I'm not complaining.

Well here's the deal... I don't want to have to push a button or worry about a Tank running out. I want power on demand but reliably. I understand how both Turbo's and Superchargers work... and I like the idea of how superchargers supply power right from the start... and turbo's you have to spool up (though lately they are getting better and better!)

I want a reliable setup and honestly I'm just like anybody else... I want to go fast. I don't want to dump 10K dollars into the car but I know to get where I want to be with it I'll definitely be looking at probably 4k or 5k+.

At the moment I'm leaning towards a turbo because they seem alot more efficient at getting "extra" horses to the ground as oppose to the supercharger taking power away to be turned. Both can make great horsepower though... I guess I just wanted other focus owners opinions on what they have so that I can make a decision and get a little bit of an idea as to what to expect from a particular product by people who have used it
1st hand.

well i have a supercharger for sale for a great price if you want something that is very reliable.

yeah it was used for the same amount of time that i used it. but it is in great condition. i just wanted more power.
