hey guys we were all wrong! turns out its not anything to do with the fuel pump, its the alarm system that Ford put on the car. they called me today and told me that the alarm put everything out of wack and that it could cost 250 to 500 dollars to fix. 500 being the worst. I asked them if they could just remove the system and at first they said that they could not do it because its tied into the computer so basically I said that was bull$hit cuz they installed it in like three hours right after I bought the car. Now I'm about to go to the dealership, get my spare key, and alarm chip to see if the original is the problem. Question....... I still have my Superchips in the computer, do you think that is throwing everything out of wack?

As for the pump, be careful of the "new design" hose popping off. I though it waa a fluke for it to be happening, but just last week it happened to me at the gas station, right after filling up with 94 octane. [V]
umm. yea, forgot there was a 2nd page of posts and thought i would go right after this one.. oops [?|]

sorry I missed that last post about the chip... Yeah dude if your running an aftermarket chip, its a definate possiblity that that may be the cause of the whole problem. Dont let them see that chip bro or you may be in more problems than just trying to get them to fix it. Depending on the dealership they may refuse to touch your car under "Waranty" purposes. If worse comes to worse bro, remember they are going to want your future business and its not good business practice to just turn someone down taht just bought a car from them. Try to use that as an advantage. If its their equipment, or service at fault you should be able to convince them that they need to fix it. Just be aggressive, but not overly aggresive with them, and they should fix it. Good luck bro! [thumb]

First of all, definitely pull the chip - you don't want to give them any potential excuses.

Second, why are they trying to charge you more money? If they installed the alarm and it's not working, they should fix it for free IMO. If you have a separate warranty for the alarm, and that warranty has expired, then they should at least be able to disconnect the thing for a minimal charge.

My guess is that disabling the alarm is a simple matter of cutting a wire or two, so don't let these guys rip you off!

94 in a SPI?
Yep. I run a custom chip from FocusSport. Randy was making chips for the SPI based off the LFQ ZETEC program. Add a fat cam to the mix and I need higher octane to keep the deto to a minimum. I run to 7k rev limiter, and I really don't want my SPI to grenade, ya know??
