Air whisper at highway speeds

Both on my old 2001 Station Wagon SE and my new 2004 ZTW, I hear air noise on the passanger side at highway speeds. Is like a window would be cracked a tiny bit. I checked all the door gaskets, everything looks OK. Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks.

I get the same noise SOMEtimes. I think it's just a less-than-perfect sealing job on the Focus in general. I thought it was annoying until I rode in a Cavalier [or pretty much any other car that's in the Focus' price range]. Interior noise levels for the Focus are actually on par w/ the Audi A4, and riding in those other cars sounded like we had the windows down compared to my Focus.

I don't know if this is similar, but I had similar noises in my 2k SE sedan...it turned out to be the tire wells knocking against the towbar (on the driver's side)...i really can't figure out what was causing it on the pass. side.

I fixed this by reinforcing the wells with plastic zipstrips, like the kind you use to bundle wires. It did require drilling small holes in the well, but they are 100% unnoticeable with the wheels on and the noise has not been heard since.

I don't know if this helps but that was my experience...

Yeah, I have known this to be the situation with our earlier models.
In Motor Trend, various car sites and such, they said that one of the cons in our car is the WIND NOISE LEVEL that we very well are familiar with!
Don't worry, it's not just your car and nothing is necessarily wrong with your window. Just get used to it I guess?! [;)]

I had the same issues and it is the windshield wipers. I removed the wipers from the holder and just drove to work with the arms pressing on the windshield. All the whisper noise was gone. Stopped halfway to work, put the wipers back on, at around 50 mph the whisper noise is back. My dealer even resealed my windshield because they thought too its a leak in the seal somewere.

I think my original wipers had a small spoiler on them, my replacements don't. I will ask my dealer how their replacement wipers look.

Um, okay. What year is your car??? If you think that it's just the WIPERS then that's great.

I have read it many times that wind noise was a major problem in earlier models. I have replaced the wipers 3 times and .... same noise. Your dealer/service tech didn't explain that it's just a norm in our car???? I was the one that talked to my dealer about my findings and then he agreed and we discussed it more. There's just nothing to be done about it really.

But hey, if you find that changing your wipers has helped, then lucky you!

My car is 2004. I do not think they changed anything from 2001, I had the same noise on my old one (2001). Is comming from the passenger side and is just a whisper - like a window would be cracked open just a tiny bit. There is no draft coming in the cabin, so is hard to pinpoint the location. My gaskets look OK, the windows are closed... God knows, 'cause I don't!

2002 ZX5. The wind whisper went away with the wipers removed. Try driving without them for a day. Worked for me. I didn't say there is no windnoise anymore, but that annoying whisper I had dissapeared.
