I picked the striped red pepper up from the shop this evening. Here are some early photos. The stripes aren't vinyl they're painted on. $525. I paid $25 extra to have the front license plate mount painted too.

looks good, hopefully ill get some pics of my fo fo up. i have racing stripes also, but i paid $50 for them cuz i painted them :) i like the side stripes, but i think they could use some writing like "ZX3" or something like the ford GT has...

Its OK Carmen, theyre just bright. I like it, well done man.

Wow........I really like it. The stripes look really good on there. Its all about the way they are done. They extended the stripes all the way down the bumpers, and that makes it look good, looks like a very professional job! Your focus has a different look than most others on this site, and its refreshing to see a different style like yours. Good work!

I've never been a fan of the mid-wing until I saw your car. I think the striped make it look awesome. Very. Nice, very nice indeed.

those tails are really different... i think i like them but i don't know. but i like the rest.

yep. i'm in love. reminds me of the shelby mustang i saw last week. red. white stripes. gorgeous.

Thanks for all your kind, encouraging words.

To respond to a few things.

Relative to a commentabout the GT stripes. After I made the appointment for the work and had to wait a month for my turn I agonized over the width dimensions etc. Measured stripes on a couple of Mustang GTs and an 07 Cobra. I also noticed that the bottom body line kicks up as it approaches the rear wheel (this might be accenuated by the SVT side skirts?). Most (All?) GT stripes are dead straight but I decided to follow the body line. I think you only notice a difference if your down low looking straight on at it. I'm pleased the way it turned out.

As I was waiting for the work to be done I did consider white wheels but I'm out of money. I tried (only a little) to sell the tails to come up with the money. I would probably only put the white SVTs on it (I'm wierd that way). At the only place I found them they are more expensive than the chrome SVTs. After seeing the whole package I like it as-is. It came with the HIDs. I put the chrome tails on it and then the chrome wheels...it all seems like a package deal now.

On the GT stripes I never really thought about any "words" on them. I doubt I could've gotten words painted in anyway. I've thought about a vinyl overlay of the build number a ford logo or maybe the same "SVT Focus" that's on the hatch (it's chrome too).

The color is "Performance White" which is a Ford color (but not on the Focus). On the color chart the "Oxford White" (I think the Focus white?) looked a little gray compared to the Performance White.

I'm pleased with the painter. There are a few flaws but overall he did a great job. He was going to paint the front licence plate bracket white for free but suggested putting a red stripe on it. So he charged me $25 for the red paint. As a result he touched up a few chips on the hood for free. He also buffed out a very minor scratch on the front left fender. And I now have some touch-up paint. Overall it was a great experrience and I'd highly recommend the shop, Rutledge Paint & Body Service (Bill Rutledge), Roanoke, VA.

In August 2006 I posted a poll about whether I should go with a carbon fiber hood / rear wing and paint the roof black or put the stripes on. I'm glad I went my own way and didn't let the overwhelming opinion to go with the carbon fiber sway me. Every time I look at it I like it even better.

I agree. Just a carbon fiber hood on a fully painted car is Honduh style (flame on, bishes). The black roof would have offset it and made it better, however, your stripes are awesome! It looks like a mini-Cobra! Like something Ford should have offered.

I like it all but the midwing also :D smoke those tails :D
