What if I have a NA tune that is just on the hairy edge of too aggressive and I get pinging once in a great while, is that a good situation to buy 1 step colder plugs to avoid having that happen? (I posted my Tune review on the sticky on the top of the page...dated Today 3/27/2007)

you mean you have your timing advanced as part of your tune?
Definately want to run premium gas with the new tune. If you do want a colder plug, you'll have to get the Denso Iridiums. The ITV 22,24 and 27's are colder than the stock SVT plug(ITV20). You may even be able to use the NGK LTR7IX-11. It's equal to the Denso 22's and has similar specs. It's a far cheaper Iridium plug then the Denso.

Colder plugs are NOT an answer to to much timing or to little fuel , if you have Deto then get your tune adjusted
Stay away from Iridium and Platnum plugs with performance

i remember when we put the step colder plugs in our last svt it helped throttle response a bit and the car ran better(maybe it was just in my head) but im gonna swap em into my new focus tomorrow
