Hey guys.. been doing a couple mods to the ol' ford. Came into a problem. I installed a new cd player.. soddered, shrink rapped all wires.. Worked perfect.. did this first before the speakers.. I continued on to install the 4 brand new pioneer speakers I got.. soddered them up.. shrink rapped them.. connected all 4. Turned on the radio.. absolutely no sound.. not a tinkle, trickle, poof sound.. nothing. It has to be something TOO simple I just can't think of. Checked the fuses under steering wheel, had 2 that were bad concerning the radio.. replaced everything was good. Still had nothing. Yes I am certain the poss neg on the speaker wires are good... I pulled one out and switched just in case.. still nothing, but I know those are right.. You guys have any idea what could have caused this.. and some things I can check/do to try and get this taken care of.

Its a 2000 ford focus if it helps.. thanks.

Well that is very odd. A couple things to try would be to disconnect a speaker and test for AC voltage from the Head unit, try a speaker or two on another source (different stereo) or try to hook back up a stock speaker and see if you get any output. Check the radio for any type of internal amp controls ( some have features to turn off the H/U amp for use with external amplifires. Good luck, hope i am of some kind of help. :)

Check for shorts in the speaker wires. Sometimes it will happen in the door and stuff. If one speaker shorts it will shut down the entire amp in your head unit. When I open my drivers side door something shorts and all of a sudden only my subs are working. To check for shorts do a couple of things. One check for continuity between all speaker wires and ground and two just check for continuity between the positive and negative of each speaker wire set.

hey fellas.. thanks alot for the replies.. I was messing around with it today and figured it out. The HU has 2 fuses.. there the glass tube like ones.. in FINE writing one fuse was 15a and the other is a 1a. Got the speakers working... and I fell into yet another problem. My HU does not power up at all anymore. Let me remind you.. everything is brand new. I have tried every combo of wiring and nothing.. the HU was working fine for the days I had it hooked up until I picked up the speakers.. last night it just turned off.. checked fuses.. got brand new one's.. replaced nothing. Took my soddering of.. rewired.. nothing. Check fuses below dash.. perfect. I picked up a new battery today as I knew mine was gettin old. Did all the wiring for the amp, everything ready to go.. and HU doesn't power. When my speakers were working last night.. I noticed my back right one wasn't turning on.. simply because I'm sure the wire got loose. Could this be of any cause to the HU.. wouldn't make sense since last night it was fine. Only thing in my mind now is that the radio is done with. Extremely pissed off. If you guys have anything to add to that... I appreciate everything so far.

This is my 4th install of a system... so I am not illiterate to it... which is why I can't understand.
