This is what I was working on the last couple days. It is completely functional. I used another stock exhaust tip, so that it would look nice and clean. The look I was going for was a stock look, and I think I achieved that. I know it doesn't add any performance gains, but I think it evens out the back of the car a little more. Pictures are posted in my photo gallery, and also below after a few replies. So please scroll down, and Enjoy!

Did all the work myself. Cutting, welding, everything. I was a little nervous when I was cutting that plastic valance for the tip! It all went pretty smooth. Mock-up took me about 1 day, and I had it all welded and installed the next day.

That looks great. I was planning on doing the same thing myself. I was planning on using a flowmaster dual outlet muffler. How did you connect the secound pipe to the system? and also did you bend the pipe yourself or did u buy mendrel bends?

My dad has a pipe bender that we use when making stuff for the hotrods. So I used that. I fabbed up a y-joint that ran from the original exhaust to the new second pipe. They both flow about equal. It was a pretty fun project all in all.

what type of pipe did you use?

A 6ft piece of 2 1/4" that I had laying around in the pile of piping. It worked perfect, and had some left over. After I had it all installed up under the car, I painted it all black. You can't really even see that it's crossing over to the drivers side when you are looking at the car from behind. What can I say, I'm picky about things. I think it comes from building cars with the old man. I'm still not completely happy with this install. I have to move the passenger tip out about 1/2" or so, so it is a little closer to what's on the drivers side. Minor crap, I know.

Thanks for the compliments so far!

LOL!!! I noticed that the first time i looked at the pics and just so you know...something like that would bother me also ;) and I would move it out a bit too. Sometimes it sucks being a perfectionist...but once it's all completely said and done then i couldn't be happier with the job i spent so much time working on :)

And good job on the install...the way you did it was exactly what i originally wanted to do (cutting valance and another stock tip) just that i don't have the necessary equiptment to do it all myself. But i'm glad to see that it looks better then i thought it would. Maybe one day i'll finally get to do mine.

Btw...did you take any under carriage pics?

I like it and am now MORE into doing mine.

looks good im gonna have a local performance shop do the same to my car cause my bodykit has openings for dual outlets

I'll see if I can take a couple under-carriage pics in a little bit, and I'll post em up. I don't want to give you guys too much and give all my secrets away! [neener]

Lol, well you don't have to share with everyone ;) just pm me the pics so only i can see [thumb]

^^^ Wow, talk about making a man feel guilty!! lol There's not really any secrets. After I'm done posting this, I'm going back out and cutting, welding, and grinding a little more to get it all where I want it to be. I painted the pipes black, so when you are looking at the car from behind, you don't see anything really... just like it pretty much shows in the "straight on" shots from the back. Here's the underside... (and yes, I know it's dirty...that's what Wisconsin winters do)
