Well I bought new 18" rims and wheels and because I have lowered my car with apex springs in the front the wheels hit. Despite the fact that with the lower profile tires the rims and wheels are the same size as my stock svt rims and wheels. From what it looks like to my untrained eye is that the wheel is actualy wider and hitting the lip of the fender. So I either need to put the stock springs back on or find a way to flare the fenders. Anyone have any ideas?

I was thinking about that but I havent done any body work b4. Guess anytime is a good time to learn...just have to pick up a spare set of fenders to try it on.

If its just rubbing on the fender lip I agree with focus 13 and would suggest rolling them. I believe the Tire Racks installer list also indicates those shops who provide this service if you don't feel up to doing it yourself. Many body shops will do this as well. It will be a whole lot cheaper than new wheels and tires.

The fender rollers are a wonderful tool for doing the job right. In the old days we used wood baseball bats and used the tire for leverage. The problem is that you need to heat the paint as you roll or you may crack it. Normally a heat gun will do this but it also requires some caution so as to not burn or blister the paint. Better to let someone who knows what they are doing to do the job, because if the paint cracks you have someone to bitch at other than yourself.

take it to a hot rod shop and get them to do it right. Most guys need to try and find something to plug into before they do anything right on your car.

The hot rod shop should know what they're doing (I hope) and should be able to do it right.
