Ok so ive been dieing to get a neon underbody kit... I was looking at the $200 LED 7 color kit from oznium... but im low on money right now so im thinking of just getting a cheaper $50 neon kit from ebay.... Im not going to use the neons often but its something cool to have, especially when i get together outside of fast food places late at night and we all chill by my car.

What would you guys suggest? Is the LED kit definitely worth waiting another month or two for? Should i save up and get it?

im actually thinkin bout gettin some neons too. ive been asking around and ive found that the Street Glow Gold series is a really good one to get for the price. right now on nopionline.com they have a few sets on sale for like $130. another good thing that ive heard about this Gold series is that if any of the bulbs break, streetglow will replace them for free.

LEDs aren't as bright as Neons. If you want BRIGHT, go neon. If you want reasonable, and possibly being able to drive with them on, go LED. Also, you can have the multi-color option with the LEDs.

Best bet for a neon kit IS the streetglow Gold Series. I had one for about 8 months, and LOVED it.

Best bet for an LED Kit would be the 7-Color LED Underbody kit from Streetglow. Good price, VERY reliable, and very easy setup. THat's the one I have right now.

PLus... it allows for the addition of the 7-Color LED WHeel well kit, which I also have, and you can hook both kits TOGETHER for total illumination and control from one single control. 7 colors, 10 patterns, 3 modes (normal, RPM, and Music Response)

I wouldn't get anything other than streetglow. hands down, its the best.

Matt, how hard was the wheel well kit to put in?

Not too hard.. had some help with a friend... and luckily, that friend had access to a lift.

I can only IMAGINE what a horrible pain in the ass it would have been if we didn't have a lift.....

What about if you were to put it up on stands? I did that for my exhaust. I put my car off the ground on 4 jackstands.

I'm not saying DON'T do it with the jack stands.... I'm just saying its MUCH easier with a lift.. and prolly a lot less time consuming as well..

Its a lot easier to walk under a car on a lift toput everything in its place, mount the tubes, do the wiring etc, than to lay on your back and do it.

If you DO do it with the jack stands.. just be careful. Saftey first! [thumb]

Definately. Have a safety catch on each side and the jack there for safety. I know about that stuff, I just finished all my clases for diesel tech, talk about scary. You haven't lived until you have a 30,000lb vehicle sitting above you on jackstands. YIKES!

HAHA! It's all good. Not tooooo much wobble.

ive been a full time diesel mechanic for the last 3 yrs,,this one guy i work with jacked a freightliner up in the front put it on stands and removed the front tires....then went to the back and jacked up the two rear axles and put them on stands and removed all the tires..i got under it and was working on the riffle plugs on the pass side of the engine and was pulling my light cord under the truck from the driver side...i happen to notice that the cord went under the jack stand on one side...then i shined my light over to see what was going on...when he jacked up the rear the front leaned forward on the stands,,,and i was under it.,,,lol,,,talk about getting out from under a rig fast...i threw one hand up and grabed the truck and threw myself out of there on my creeper,,,,wanted to kick some ass then,,lol,,,think i might have wet myself alittle,,haha

and the neons,,,if u lowered it at all u will be blowing out lights left and right,,,ive had two sets of street glow on mine and totally destroyed them all...i think two survived,,,,i would suggest whatever those bendable lights are...they dont break as easy as the autozone streetglows do

Haha, time for a new jumpsuit I'd imagine.
