sounds like a plane 2 me to!!! i no the super charger is a little over 3k, how much more am i looking at for the tune and everthing else? its going to be the longest three months of my life waiting to get the money for it all lol. hopefully this will let beat the vw crew in my town, and of course my friends gsr, im sick of getting crap for having a focus, errrrrrrrrr. thanks for the help
 
voids the carb-ness of the kit.
This is where the magic of the SCT 4bank switch chip comes in handy. you can still have your powerworks tune in the ECU and then your tune or adjustments on the chip. when you are crusin around leave your tune on when you go for inspection turn it to "4" which deactivated the chip and the tune on the ecu takes over (the carb powerworks tune) and when they test they car it will pass no problems. IF they happen to see the chip just tell em that its for track days and that its a pain in the ass to remove.

Sarif2029. sneaky i like that idea alot, but if its 700 dollar differnce then i think im just going wit the pw tune, thanks for the help idea. so it looks like i will be investing in the pw sc!!!!!!!!!!!! cant wait. thanks for all the help guys.
 
i dont really think that it will cost you $700 the powerworks tune that they have stays programmed into your ECU then when IF you get the chip when you get a tune they will wright a whole new tune for the chip that will overide the PW tune and if its tuned right you should see quite a few more horses apearing under your hood. I picked up my chip from the B/S/T fourm for ~150 it cost me $65 to have my local SCT shop reprogram it for my ECU code and load the basic tune from SCT. YOU are gona want it dyno tuned and that depends on your local shop, my shop here quoted me ~250 for a tune and that included as many runs as it would take to get it right. i havnt had the time to do that nor the need b/c i dont have my PW yet lol but the stock tune gave me 6whp and 10ft*lbs of TQ so it helps a bit. if you shop around i dont see you spending 700 on a tune unless you get 2 or 3 different tunes or the shop you go to has really inflated prices.

im a complete novice when it comes to cumputer stuff, like chips and wat not. i got kinda confussed sry, do mind explaining it in a way that i could understand lol thanks.im not sure if ur talking about the tune that comes wit the sc kit, or a differnt chip, once again sry about asking u to explain it again.
 
Okay, the powerworks kit requires you to send in the ECU from your car so that they can reflash (read: reprogram so that the new MAF sensor readout is understood, bigger injectors accounted for, IAT table readjusted etc...) it so that your car can run properly with the supercharger.

When people say custom tune your car they mean either by chip or by reflashing the ecu with one of the available tuners SCT Xcal1 or 2 or DiabloSport Predator. What this does is allows you to tweak a bunch of computer settings for more power.

blkthunder, no sarcasm intended, i realy had no clue about the chips and flashing, like the function of them in stuff, i new that they were sapossed to gve u more hp and tq, but i had no idea that it did everything else that u were saying and wasnt realy sure how it does wat it does. more info would never hurt if u got it [thumb]. should i not do anything else till i get the sc? and do they go cheaper then 4750 any were else? thats the price on fs. thanks

read up on it! i think you'll be plenty happy when you get it. afterwards we can discuss custom tunes and other upgrades that'll help get some more power out of it... btw once your ready to take that step u better be ready to drop in a built engine. [;)]

And make sure to not make any mods to the blower until after one year due to it being under warranty!!! cant beat that!

btw once your ready to take that step u better be ready to drop in a built engine. r u saying that im going to need new internals? should i get a tune now and then when i get the sc? or wait like 3 months and do it wit the sc?
