For Sync 2, I'd be very surprised if there are any new updates, it's a discontinued system. I believe the free map updates are only during the 3/36 warranty period, but could be wrong. The last map update that works correctly with it is A9. You can use A10, but you'll lose voice navigation features. Not sure about Sync3.
I don't believe so. I had a 2012 Focus and got free updates and maps while they worked out the kinks in the system (it was brand new back then, and buggy af), but that was only early on in it's life which is why it may be only under the 3/36 possibly, if at all. I have a Buick now and there are NO free map updates. Just bought it new and it had a map version from 2018... But the map updates can be found on Amazon and elsewhere for a lot cheaper than directly through Ford or Buick.
