Hi I locked my key in the boot of my car and have no spare I don't no if I deadlocked the car it's a 2013 I'm a mechanic as trade I am trying to find out ways of getting in ch job more than likely will me hitting the unlock button in the centre console work? I don't really want to get a lock Smith thanks steven

I'm assuming you have a sedan, not a hatch. For the hatch in the USA there is a release button next to the headlamp switch. I don't know if this button opens the trunk/boot for the sedan.

If the doors are locked you will probably need a locksmith.

If the doors are unlocked as others have said fold down the rear seats unless yours don't fold down. If yours don't fold down you may be able to disassemble the seat bottom and seat back and gain access to the trunk.

So you have a hatchback and by assumption that you can hit the unlock button in the center stack you have access to the interior.

On the USA models, which are left hand drive, the headlight switch is to the left of the steering wheel at the left edge of the dash. There is a button there that releases the hatch.

Also, all USA hatches are set up where the rear seat bottom flips up and the rear seat back flips down into the boot area.

So one way or another you should have access to get into the boot area.

Thanks for the reply I can't get into the cat at all there is no switch for the boot/trunk

As far as it goes i assume he can't get inside. And it's a sedan. Am i right? Did you manage to get the key out and enter the car? I've had a similar experience with my 1999 Focus sedan. Luckily, a locksmith https://locksmithbrampton24.ca could open the trunk and we managed to detach seats from the outside.

Edit: Actually, if he doesn't have boot release button i don't know how a locksmith could help him.

he is from ireland and has a hatchback, look like he cant get in the car to to get the back seats down, in the uk we dont have the button on the light switch for the boot release. it looks like a lock smith the only way, or it might be possible to open the hatch the same way the mk1 could if keys locked in

On my US 2016 SE Hatch there is a button on the top outside corner of at the back seats that releases the seat backs which would allow trunk access. Just looked at my cover for the trunk. As a previous poster stated, you should be able to pop the front of it off by pulling straight up with your fingers...
