thanks. i did do a search but i kept getting different answers like .060 .065 .051 so just wanted to make sure first. BTW is this a search feature?

I went .055" and it made my idle a little smoother but top end was negatively affected. Went back to stock gap and it was fine.

i did stock with new wires(not performance) and it was like night and day when it was idleing and when i turned it on. it was like turning the key to a new car...lol..getting ready to drive it now to see how she does.

you can always gap more, so if its running crappy, gap it a bit more until it runs great. if you don't care about wasting up to 20 bucks in plugs, just keep gapping them till you run great, then over gap them till it runs crappy again, then you could actually find where the sweet spot is!! then get a new set and put it tothat gap. but usually very little gapping is needed

you realize that the msd coil and wires do diddly squat and actually make it harder to dyno tune right? i realized it for myself just a little too late....

mine are gapped at 55 IIRC

Stock gap is .052 dont listen to the TARD at the parts store.

If you have good wires you can go to a .060 gap and it'll smooth out the idle and make the throttle respomce a little better.

dunno why. made a couple pulls on tom's dyno last year at a meet and IIRC he said he couldnt get a torque reading or something to that effect. and he made a point of saying it was because of the coil pack. he also made a point of saying the stock coil pack is good for 700whp

So, you're saying it's purely hearsay and an unfounded claim? (not to mention you can't recall exact words)
Why mention it at all if you can't understand it?

You gap plugs as large as you can in an effort to expose the largest amount of air/fuel to the largest spark kernel you can, without compromising the quality of combustion or the life span of the ignition components.
read: trial and error, no 2 cars will work identically on the same gap, positioning and total system resistances will differ and have some effect

The not being able to read TQ also happenes with the Screamin Deamon junk as well, it has something to do with the way the spark is discharged or bleed off.

I had a tiny spot on a plug wire where the wire was trying to pull out of the boot, and when I would get to 4k rpms the electrical interference that was generated would cause my radar detector to go off.... I thought I was being followed by the cops.

After I found the spot and saw the spark jump from the wire to the coil I taped it off and the issue went away (this was back when I first bought my Focus and I put a SD coil on it... back when I didnt know any better)
