On the hatchbacks, the cargo cover has strings that go up to balls on the hatch, for the cover to lift up when the hatch opens, question is? How do those ball studs come off? They are plastic, and one of mine is broken

They kind of just come straight out. They have 4 little clips that hold them in.

THey just pop out, pulling is what worked for me.


Also, what is the proper name/part number for these. I lost one at some point...

I realize this thread is a couple months old but was searching for this answer as well and to the point where the guy at the parts counter of the dealership close by had a problem finding the part too.

Part number: 98AZ61519A16AA

All you need to do is pop it out with a flathead since it actually plugs into the tailgate and not just the plastic body work, you don't have to worry about damaging anything
