Well as some of you may know about a month ago the SPI in my Focus went.

Long story short the car is now sold. :/

So I thought I would update with what I'm driving now. I got my dad's car, a 2002 Sunlight Silver Mazda Protege.

He got a 2008 Mk5 Jetta :)

Done a few small/low cost mods on the Pro. Swapped my HID kit over, all red tails, debadged, yellow lamin-x on the fogs, and black housing headlights.

First a pic of my Focus <3

The Jetta and Protege:

screw msp swap... go for the klze v6 swap its about 80% bolt in. trans from a probe or mx6 or mx3 v6 fit and linkage hooks up. plug in computer and harness... some radiator work is needed and you'd need a tach adapter to show the correct rpm but... yeah damn near bolt in status.

just sayin its like a one or two weekend deal. certainly picked a nice car and couldnt come closer to the feel of a focus. actually it follows the old escort body to the zx2 before it turned into the focus. :)

very nice :)

I like the late-gen Proteges. They're a bitch to get aftermarket parts...but I actually hope you keep it mostly stock. It looks good from the factory.

For some reason I doubt the folks would allow any engine swap on a working car if they wouldn't allow a Zetec swap into the FoFo with a dropped valve seat.

QFT. I was toying around with the idea of swapping a GM 3900 into the Malibu back in the day...that didn't go over so well. My mom said if I had the money for that, I could move out of the house too. [eek] Trump card for her.

Lol yeah I have no interest in a swap anyways.

The Protege is plenty fast for me, big difference compared to the SPI.

You're gonna love your Protege. I used to own a 2003.5 MSP. I loved that car [mecry]
I'm trying to source out a Protege5 (wagon/hatchback protege) but I can't find one in manual.

Aint that the truth.. there's only one company out there that makes a turbo manifold for the MSP [thankyou]

Thanks everyone! Yeah its pretty fun to drive, stiffer stock suspension than the focus and grips really well.
