Okay I was at my local junk yard looking for a seatbelt for my mother-in-laws Ranger, looked for some any Zetec foci, but there was only a banged up D-tec, then I noticed some Mercury's lined up and seen that they had some with the Zetec motor.

The Valve cover was different then my wifes, hers is black with the Zetec logo on it, but the ones in the Merc's were silver looking with the 16 valve logo on it.

I like it better I want to know if I can swap it out? Or whould it damage or lower the cars perfromance?

I should post this else where , but when I was leaving I check out that D-tec focus and seen it had a set of Eibach springs on it, but dont know if they are still good or not? How could I find out?

yes you can swap out the valve covers, just make sure you get a new gasket for it, and when you do you need one for the merc because they are slight changes. several people have done this on here, they look amazing painted

idk about the springs, but if they arnt broken, and not bent i would think they are fine

yeah merc, you should be able to get it at any auto part store

yes u can swap it on ur car. the contours also have that valve cover. i did the same as u and went to a junkyard and got the valve cover. cleaned it up, painted it, and slapped it on! oh yeah...ur gonna need that gasket. any auto parts store should carry it. i THINK massive has it also.

the gasket looked fine, but Im gonna get a new one for sure, the car was a tracer I think. I should have looked. I'll be posting pics later this week.

yeah i got the bolts, oil cap and gasket from massive. its a lil steep in price, but, looks good.

phil jus tmake sure you use hi temp paint on the valve cover. i still have the primer and aluminum if you want, them

no unfortunally you cant put it on your svt, i cant remember why but i know it wont fit

the contour doesnt have a spot for the vct for one thing. i dont remember if any zetecs beside the svt have the vct on the exhaust cam. if they did then they might interchange.
