Just like doing the V8 kit but keeping the Zetec
I going to put big brakes on my focus witch cost around $700-800
I can buy a 2002 8.8 mustang rear end for under $1000 with dics brakes on it.
T5 mustang trans 5 speed + 500Hp turbo Zetec = badass Focus.
I went out and bought a focus just to make a fast show car out of it.
I shooting for the fastest foci in US so yes its going to be worth.
I can go and buy a SVT mustang if I want buy I want to build a Focus[thumb]

I wont have to worry about traction just keeping the front wheels down

just wondering how do you plan on getting 500hp out of a zetec?

with enough boost you can get 500hp out of anything...

one shop took an escort gt and made a project car out of it.. 545whp on 30psi and 100shot of giggly using a built version of the 1.8L mazda motor that came in the gt's... he recently made it rwd using a miata tranny... i think he was pullin low 11's fwd... going through trannies like they were candy..

i know his page hasnt been updated in ages, but he still has the car and stops in on the boards every now and then...

Yeah, you can get 500 WHP out of a Zetec with about $12,000 in parts and labor, not to mention you have to use C-16 racing fuel to achieve it. Even then you still stand a good chance of blowing your engine...just ask Tom about what happened to his white ZX3 that was pushing 518 with a CGI block and all-forged internals and why he has a piston with a blown rod sitting on his dyno computer desk...

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of turbocharged I4's, but pushing that much power out of a Zetec is just asking for it. IMO for the kind of money you're going to spend (not to mention adapting it to RWD) why not just drop a V-8 in?

Very good point ^^^ You can make a streetable I4 into a real quick , fun car (200-300 HP) and have it be pretty reliable IMO, but 500 HP, you are on the fringe at that point

how said I had to run 500hp 24/7
maybe I can turn down the boost
I might have more than one tune made.
If I want I can just go out and buy SVT mustang.
I bought this car for a fun project not a daily driver.
sure i could put a V8 in it but I want a turbo charged focus.
It just wont be a tuner car anymore with a V8 then it would be a
wild street machine.I have supercrew truck and escape.

I brought one used focus $4000
motor work chassic paint wheels and other stuff
I figure I will spend $16,000 more that still $20,000
Saleen focus cost $22-24,000 stock (slow)
used SVT ,cobra,roush,mustang $23,000 -$28,000
for $20,000 I will just about kick everyone ass and loved it.
well almost everyone.there is always someone faster[:D]

Turn the boost down change the program and I can run around on
pump gas with about 350hp

I love my focus its a blast to drive and it something different to see one run.

Yeah, you have a good point CatMF. All you would want is a couple of different tunes, lower the boost, and you would have one nice little car that would run around all day. BUT, when the urge hits, kick it up a notch, and show the musclecars how we can do it with half the cylinders :) lol--I am only 30 mins away if you need a hand bro! As far as the ORIGINAL question (if anyone remember him asking one...) I am not sure which bellhousing you could run, but Im sure you will find it.
