Hey, sorry I couldn't figure this out and now have to post a thread. I checked the stickied thread with all the bulb sizes but still am not sure if my 2001 focus zx3 uses the h4's or the 9007's. Also while i'm on it which are the best bulbs to get to replace on the STOCK wiring, for the foglights, highs, and lowbeams in terms of visibility during night driving, I want something that makes the road really easy, and I dont really care what color they are.

they are hi lo h4 and for the best bulbs some will say dont do it but i would buy HIDs, they are about 100 bucks

yes to run hids you need ballasts too

PIAA is mentioned a lot on here, as are Sylvania Silverstars. And I'm not sure why SVTRSST said H4 for Hi/Low. The 2001 Focus Hatchback is going to use 9003 bulbs for Hi/Low.

yea I also heard the silverstars are good I was gonna go with their super white ones. Now im really confused tho because I thought it was either the H4's or 9007's going by the sticky thread on bulb sizes. And I thought the 9003's were for the sedan, you do have the zx3, so did you get the 9003's for your car and everything worked out alright?

all focus with normal headlights, the ones that the 2002 svt had ( no matter the color) use 9003/hb2/h4 just the same bulb with different names, 9007 is completely different

H4 is like an universal name more than hb2 or 9003, about what brand ill let others answer since i really dont know

if you just have stockers........ I'd say just get some silverstar Ultra's, they're about $39 or so at your local auto store, I bought them when I found out the car I just bought had one broken bulb, so I just replaced the pair and they're fairly bright [thumb]

may I also make the point that the bulbs used for the front side markers also fit in the trunk space, as far as I know, for the sedan...... hatches, I'm not sure about you guys [hihi]

if you go to the auto store and they have a lighting book, it well tell you 9003 for the headlights... those are what I bought.....

so much conflicting information =/ i dunno which way to go, does anyone have an 01 zetec and recently switched out their bulbs?

lol man.. its just an h4 bulb, its the universal name of it, nobody calls it hb2 or 9003 although they are the other names, just buy the h4s

Silverstar ultra H4 bulbs they're the same thing as 9003 and hb2 hell if you go to autozone i'm sure they will tell you that too. I had them in my car before i bought my new headlights.
