Yellowing headlights?

I doubt any Focis have this problem, but some of you might have older cars that have yellowed headlights. About 6 years ago I had an Aerostar with horribly yellowed headlight plastic. I don't know how I came across the idea, but I've seen products that cost $75 or more that claim to fix yellowed headlights.

I've discovered that waxing the lights will work. Most of the time any wax will do some sort of a job, but I've found Blue Coral Clearcoat Polish to get the best results. Rubbing compound appears to be too abrasive, but might speed things up with badly yellowed lights. Either way, it's a lot cheaper to use wax and elbow grease instead of expensive miracle products.

Best wishes, just thought I'd share that since I finally found my Blue Coral and removed the last bit of yellow from the new van's headlights. I wish I had a before and after pic to show, sorry about that.

Have you tried wet sanding and polishing them? Isn't the yellowing caused by the UV film going bad?

You could try this, it cost me a grand total of 20 bucks.
