ok so im testing a tune for tom based on the xcal2. so that means may be one day you guys with xcal2s can get toms tune.

first off, this is not my first tune, I've had hypnotics, and mcnews tuned my car a few times when it was procharged. with that said i move on to Tom's

i have a few mods, CM stage 3 clutch, aluminum fly wheel, LSD, SRI, CFM HFC, custom dual exhaust, full suspension, and a few other things.

so after flashing in the test tune i started her up and instantly i noticed a difference. the idle was not up near 1500 rpm it was down at 900. that was nice to see. so i put her in gear and let out the clutch and i said wow, i could now tell i had a light weight fly wheel. the car just went. i continue in first and i punch it, i said wow again. the increase in torque was awesome. so i go through the gears 1-6 low rpm shifts and red line shifts. i said to my self, now this is was a svt should drive like.

now the 1 and only bad thing is i have a bit of serging, but thats why this is a test tune, and im sure tom will figure that out, other wise its amazing.

you guys are probably saying this guys got the instant mod mind games going on, i sad that too, but even today i get in the car and it still amazes me. its now 2 weeks that ive had it.

Did you go to his shop, or did he send you a tune?
IIRC, he did need to tune an SVT in person to get the files set up.

i wanted a tune a wile ago for the xcal2 and he did not have them. i had th tune sent to me and im sure thats why i have the surging, every car is different. i know tom will fix it.

Tom sent me an Xcal-1 tune so he may have that available for us old-timers. However, if you really want to us Tom's tune, it works the best under the predator. I tried his XCal 1 tune but went back to a fairly late hypnotic tune.

I've considered getting a predator from Tom because the Hypnotic tune simply doesn't make any usable power below 2500 RPM. It's great above but is worthless below.

Still, it was very cool for Tom to step up and offer support for the former customers of the Hypnotic Tune.

A quick aside, do not mention Hypnotic, Wayne or anything else, he had some personal problems a few years ago and . . . lets just say. . . didn't treat some of his customers as well as he should have. He's gone, he'll never be back and his tune is no longer available.

I have dynoed and street tested about 11 with diff. mods now with the xcal2/3 and feel good enough to do some testing with a few mailorder , I have 3 testing it now mailorder yours is the only one right now that has a surge and you say its surging one day and not the next but that wouldnt be coming from the tune

I would like a log of when it is surging and I can try to figure something out , My xcal tunes will be ready soon for thise interested for 125.00 with free updates as you mod for as long as you own your SVT
