Everywhere I live in the world, I'm convinced it's the place with the worst drivers. Places where they pull off into the dirt shoulder to pass you. Places where they forget how to drive every time it snows. Places where no one has figured out how to use a turn signal.

So where are the worst drivers you've experienced and what is that special thing they do to earn that title?

I like the ones that drive 15-20 under the speed limit [rolleyes] Makes me wanna carry a gun everywhere I go. They hit their brakes around every small turn and they won't pull over and they know someone wants to go around them. Idiots.

I'm a trucker and the thing I hate most is when people ride along side me for miles and miles on the expressway. If one of my tires blow (as they do from time-to-time) it can really do some damage, even kill them. Plus, i'm comfined to my lane- if some emergency pops up (a deer, even) I have no where to go. It's a very dangerous thing to do for both of us.

Chicago express ways or whatever. You get people shooting outta the exit ramps at you and don't even notice you. Scary shit.
Yeah, if I carried a gun.....oh no.........it would be bad.

I don't want to say the drivers are terrible in Japan, I think the problem are the roads. Narrow twisting streets, blind corners and speed limits that are little more than suggestions. Plus on the same road you have scooters that can barely do 50 clicks an hour, farm tractors and 300 hp sports cars fighting for the same lane with nothing but ditches, concrete power poles and rice paddies on both sides of the road.

Yeah, ok, the drivers here suck, myself included. I need to get back to the eight lane interstates and triple wide American boulevards to hone my skills.

Ashley, your grievances sound like what I experienced driving through VA a couple years ago! OMG, if I saw one more random brake tapping going UP a hill I was gonna start rear-ending people just for fun!!

BUt in all honesty, the worst drivers I've ever seen are definitely up here in New England. They drive fast, but too fast for conditions often. Or even if the weather isn't an issue they're driving toof ast not paying attention to other cars and not using blinkers, etc.

On this note, I saw a report recently that the 3 worst driving states in the US are NJ, RI and MA... doesn't surprise me a bit! I think they qualified the results in a few ways, but one was simply giving a test to see if the ones with licenses even knew the rules of the road. Apparently in these states they didn't, like people honestly thinking rolling through a red light right turn is OK... instead of coming to a stop, and seeing if turning right would impede on-coming traffic. The RhodeIsland Roll is highly prevalent, I've seen people doing it on their driving tests!

All I have to say is PA drivers...and if you live in Pa you know what i'm talking about. Sometimes I wonder what the driving test even requires anymore to get your liscence. my personal favorite is when someone passes you then gets in front of you only to slow down again.....AAAAAAAAAHHHHH shoot them all

Tell me about it! PA roads are the worst! With taxes so high, you'd think we'd have roads like Delaware (0% sales tax). Anyway, Maryland drivers are by far the worst. This seems to be consistent. They just change lanes without checking for cars. [:(!]

Some of the worse drivers I have seen around here, would be bikers. A good deal are safe, but you have the dumb ones who cut ppl off, weave in & out of traffic & pretty much make it seem like they want to die. Just yesturday I had a bike who needed to pull along my passenger side because he was to close to stop with out hitting me. A good deal of the ppl in cars know what they are doing, unless they are the real old ones who cant recall that a green light means go & a stop sign means stop[:(] The last thing I hate, are the soon to be drivers, like the 13-15 year olds riding there bikes. They real just cross traffic with out even looking[paranoid] I have had my fare share of close calls with other ppl who just cant seem to drive[xx(]

Korea, hands down worlds worst driving! Why, I wouldn't know where to begin.

Edit: Ok I'll try and describe it. Stop signs and redlights are considered suggestions here. I've been in many an SCCA worthy slalom through the 4 way stop with korean drivers. I've never used the oh-shit bar until now in my life, lol. Merging....yeah it's called just wing it out into high spped traffic without any concern whatsoever. Imagine the worst driving traits possible and it exist and is practiced by damn near every driver here, no kidding. Except for speeding, they drive insanely slow for some reason. Me, I stick to trains & subways, much safer. I had a taxi driver get into a fist fight with another taxi driver one night because the other guy ran the red and almost T-boned us at like 45, lol

^ Who wouldn't love to drive in that shit?

Ha! That pic looks just like my morning commute.

My favorite is the 'hurry up and zip in front of the line'. People that do that save, what, ten seconds? But manage to bring traffic to a standstill for everyone behind them.

There's no courtesy anymore.

doha, qatar. of all the places in the mid east, doha and cairo are the worst, although beirut is pretty bad as well. since it rains so infrequently here (maybe 1 cm 3 times a year or so) the oil builds up on the roads, so that when it does rain the whole city becomes hydroplane alley.

Bali. Ever tried to drive in a 3rd world country? Like it's been said before, traffic laws are just bare suggestions. The worst part is you constantly have bikes and mopeds weaving in and out of traffic all the time. I was dead sure we were going to see at least 1 death on the way from the airport to the hotel in the back of a cab. Close calls that would have had an American driver pulling off to deal with a heart attack were shrugged off as a normal occurance.

My local frustrations are the SUV / truck drivers who think they can ignore road conditions (70% of the vehicles in the ditch in winter), and people turning and merging slowly. There's nothing like being behind somebody who tries to merge onto a busy highway going about 40mph. It's friggin dangerous!

Long Island!

1- They stop at the Yield sign at the bottom of the on ramp, even with no oncoming traffic. Where I grew up that's called an accerlation lane...

2- They've never seen a turn signal

3- They're the worlds worst rubberneckers. I've gotten caught in a 45 minute traffic jam where I was expecting ambulances and fire trucks, only to find that it was a guy with a flat tire - on the opposite side of the highway! And the SOB's are coming to a full STOP to look. Apparently they've never seen anyone change a tire either.

Fortunately I haven't been to LI in years...

man the only thing good about the northeast is the food. i live in north carolina, the people are really nice (the natives at least) and when i go up north, even to DC, it seems like people are mean and uncourteous. plus up north its depressing because of the weather, the crowding, and how dirty it is. yuck.

Here in Florida, we have every possible type of bad driver. Lots of confused elderly people, dangerous truck drivers, stupid rednecks with giant pickups and a sample of bad drivers from every state. Normally, I wouldn't include truck drivers, but the boom in Florida is making trucking business' hard up for drivers. I see at least one truck blow though a red light EVERY DAY. I'm not talking rolling through the yellow. I mean starting to cross the intersection 2 full seconds after the light has changed. The state troopers are never around for that, but you can bet they'll be right there if you go over the speed limit. Aholes!

i live in wisconsin and in the summers i deliver for a pharmacy about 7-9 hours a day, the things that i hate the most are people merging onto the highway at 30 mph without looking, people riding on the highway in the left lane at 15 mph under the speed limit, and people who tailgate me, my work vehicle has the name and phone number on it so i cant really do anything about it.
