I have a set of 215 60 17 winter tires from my Charger will these fit on my 2012 focus or will I run into rubbing and other problems? My stocks that came with the car are 205 50 16. Should be ok right?

The wheel size ALWAYS has to be the same.
The other two dimensions can vary a bit.
So, no they will NOT work.

Why does the wheel size have to stay the same?

Just so you know I'm not trying to mount 17" tires onto 16" wheels. I'm getting a set of 17" beater wheels for the 17" tires. I know the focus comes in wheel sizes of 17", and 18" so I know it can take them I just wasn't sure on the 60 series tires fitting right or rubbing.

because you didn't specify that you were going to buy new rims...

anyways by my math the size you listed is going to me 2.5 inches taller than stock 17's, Im gonna say no, they rant gonna fit, at least I wouldn't do it even if they did.

First off, I think you should double check the stock tire size on your 2012 Focus. I believe the correct size is 215/55R16 (25.2" diameter), not 205/50R16 (24.1" diameter).

Using the dimensions you gave for your winter tires, I checked the tire spec page on tirerack.com for a 215/60R17 tire, and it has an overall diameter of 27.2". That is going to be too large a tire for your 2012 Focus. In comparison, my Blizzaks are 205/60R16, which have an overall diameter of 25.7 inches.

Like 28HopUp, I'm getting 205/60R16 for my winter tires. The diameter difference is <3% from my stock R17.
