Hi all, just after a bit of advice before I have a look and break it in the process...

The driver door mounted window switch on a 02 Focus.
The RHS driver window opening switch all of a sudden feels 'loose' and is able to move aruond, rattling a little bit.

Is this something I can fix myself or do I need to buy a new part? [dunno]

Any info would be welcome.

Thanks! [wrenchin]

Hmm.. slightly hard to figure out by what you wrote.

Is the toggle loose, or the whole switch that holds the other switches? If the toggle is loose, then you'll need a new switch. If the switch itself is loose, you can probably remove the door trim, and re-secure the switch. If the plastic that holds it is broken, then you'll need a new switch.

Look for screws holding the door cover on, and pop the snap pins out around the edges, then you should be able to lift it up.

Depending on how the door cover is made, you might not have to remove all of it to get to the switches, so look for an easier way out. A manual would be very helpful, but often those don't show how to remove interior parts as instructively as we'd like.

Yeah...hard to tell exactly what is loose. If the entire switch is loose in the door panel, a tab may have broken. If that's the case, it's often possible to glue the switch to the door panel.....a few drops of super-glue are all usually necessary.

If the rocker part of the switch came loose, you might as well buy a new one...
