It's unlikely that this is your problem, but my engine used to whine a little and I couldn't figure out why. The next time I had my oil changed they pointed out that I was low on power steering fluid so they topped me off. Somehow, that killed the whine too.

Go figure.

Is the whine only at idle and goes away when you rev the engine? The noise can be originating from the water pump. If the whine is constant through the operating range, it is most likely something else, like the power steering, etc.

doesn't he wish^^^!!! lol, the wines usually come from the serpentine belt or from the accessories run by the serpentine belt!! check ur power stearing and see if it wines harder when you move the wheel. check the AC. watch ur engine temps to see if its the water pump, you may just have a bad belt. try everything you can find!! you'll figure it out, if not, just ask more questions!! lol

Good Luck!
