I bought a set of 17x7 wheels with a 42 offset and was wondering what size spacer I could run in the rear to get a flush fitment like the fronts?

Measure the distance from the tire to the fender lip. That's how much spacer you'll need. Just be mindful of how long your wheel studs are, which will limit how big of a spacer you can use without replacing the studs with longer studs (or using a bolt-on spacer). With a 42mm offset and something like a 215 tire, I can't imagine there's much room left for a spacer on a Mk1.
