I run a 205/50/16 on a 16x7 (stock size tire). no worries.

Moved to "Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension"

There are so many variations to picking a wheel and tire that the diameter and width only doesn't get us very far. Other things like offset are very important.

It all depends on ur setup. Stock springs/lowered springs etc. And what offset the wheels are.

I've ran 215/45/16's and 225/50/16's on 16x7 +40 wheels

For comparison purposes the stock 16" wheel is 6" wide and the stock SVT or Ford Racing wheel is 7" wide although 17" diameter. The former wheels have a 52mm offset and the latter are a 49mm offset. That said, 16x7" rims are a popular aftermarket replacement size. A good offset for this wheel would be 45 to 49mm. 42mm may work but a lot will depend on tire size and amount of drop if any.
