Well we are in the process of tearing down a car for a race car build and I decided it would be nice to have all the weights of each individual parts that we removed, so if I or anyone else ever needs to know what something weighs it will be in all one spot.

I have just updated the site with the new weights, in the next coming days I will be adding pictures so that it's more clear as to what parts I am referring too.

Nice, how much total weight was removed with that? I saw the chart, I just don't feel like adding up all the numbers LOL!

Good Info!

^^ is it really? that seems just a bit much.... I thought it was a little closer to like 390 or something but that was a quick skim through hand counting. LOL.

Keep in mind we have not weighed the cat converter, or exhaust system which will be not be on this car either. (car will have open dp out the bumper)

Total so far is 431.5 as stated above. We will however have to add some weight back, including a driver seat, rollcage and the turbo kit itself. We will also be saving approx 54lbs with the wheel and tire combination we have picked out for this car.

I still anticipate this being a very light chassis when it is all said and done. I will be posting a total weight with driver once everything is installed.

Really?
What combo is that?

Those 15's as shown on the car are only 15.2lbs.
You might save 3-lbs per tire, which leaves another 10-lbs to save per wheel. (54/4=13.2)
Where'd you find 5-lb wheels? [eek]

Just curious as to how you came up with the 54-lb estimate. [;)]

Each wheel and tire on the car weigh 39.5lbs. (x4)

The wheel and tires that we are running are:
Front Wheels: Weld 15x8 14.45lbs (x2)
Rear Wheels: Weld 15x3.5 10.5lbs (x2)
Front Slicks: MT 24.5x8x15 17lbs (x2)
Rear Tires: MT 22.5x4.5x15 7lbs (x2)

Stock Wheel and Tires: 158lbs
New Wheels and Tires: 97.91lbs
Weight Savings: 60.1lbs

Tires on the car might not be OE tires, however, they are what we have to go by.

Great job that gives a lots of light on building a car, I have a zx4 as well no I know what to remove.

Thanks!

Now I know where the big drop is...3.5" wheels and 4.5" tires on the rear.
I guess you're not going to be turning very fast? LOL!

Do those wheels fit a focus? I know they are on your focus but did you have to do something with the car to make them fit?
