Hi,

I have a 2004 Focus that the heater/air conditioner blower motor has failed on. When you turn on the car the blower motor will start for a few seconds then quickly fade away to stopped. I changed the blower resister but it made no difference,
I would blame the motor (it has always been noisy) but since it does come on at start, is it the motor or should I be looking at adifferent cause?

Cabin blower with dry bearings will slow down. Try lube.....

Forgot to say that since the blower is coming on with car, the switch has probably welded its contacts together. A blower with dry bearings draws higher current than normal and can damage the switch and/or blower resistor block.
