Just a warning on this - my AC died in my 2001 Focus SE and on inspection I found that the refrigerant line from the accumulator to the compressor was chafed and worn on the bottom radiator support and had leaked there. The line does NOT run against this support but as the engine moves in the engine bay under load this line rubs against the support. The line is replaced as part of an assembly of 2 lines but the compressor hold down bolt for the lines on mine was frozen to the point that I'll have to pull the compressor (or the catcon) to get access to it (I haven't done the job yet and haven't decided which one I'm going to pull)

When I checked on my other 2001 Focus it's line had the exact same chafing on it.

This must be a problem with this design. The aftermarket hoses cover this area with an additional layer of plastic tubing. You should check this area as part of a preventative maintenance.
