blew or screwed up tonight!

me and my friend witht he 240sx on i-20 going from a 40
i go from 3rd to fourth and kinda felt like it does when i hit 6k it just kinda stop and idk,

well anyways about 30 seconds later me and my gf smell this burning smell and im think oh hell.

well get back to my friends house and i pop the hoodd and go reach for the latch and i can smell it bruning. and i tell my friend to come smell first.
and i open it! and bam OIL everywhere, even looked like it was coming from the oil cap..?

and well there was oil everywhere.
wish it was day time and i would have taken a pic. but yeah valve cover gasket= dead.

could VCT be the reason for this crap that makes me car slow as balls! cause i really think a zx3 5-speed could beat me. and i am supposed to have 40hp and more tq than it.

so i believe this blown valve cover gasket is more serious than i originally thought.
i get home and i decide to look under the front of my car where i believe the oil dip stick heads to!
i see oil everywhere! or some form of liquid everywhere.
it was too dark to take a pic of. but tomorrow morning i am taking a pic.

stop racing your car when you know something is wrong with it.

Normally not but if you're car is experiencing some kind of issue it could be.

Head gasket?

You may have blown a head gasket check oil for antifreeze or on my focus theirs a hose on top in the back of the valve cover it could be off or clogged[scratch]

its even leaking on the bottom of my engine? im not too sure.
there is a black (plastic possibly) piece that connect to the engine i think and its wet.

i am taking it to ford today
hopefully my car will run like it should.
becuase ive had lots of problems lately with this

did that on my 2000 zx3.

i took it to ford.

but the parts are only arouns 75-80
the guy said.
i highly doubt its takes 6+ hours to change and oilpan gasket and valve cover gastket.

i meant its right there.
if i had a lift i could do it in less than 2 hours.

oh and supposedly my water pump leaks to

im calling BS on that one unless the made it leak

it's not how long it takes. the amount is charged out in hours. if the set fee is xxx and = xxx hours, that is how it should be charged out by them. i had a coil go on my car this weekend. if i had gone to ford it would have been $700 installed. had a tech in my vw shop do it on the side for $15 labor and parts cost me (with my ford/vw dealer employee discount) around $170. the thing is, if you take it to a dealer, you are going to pay to have it done right the first time. I used to work for Pep Boys and we saw many "come backs" for repairs not done right because the mechanics didnt know the cars. I know it sounds pricey and maybe call the service manager there and ask him to help you out with the pricing. they are in business to make money just like anyone and im sure they can help you some to keep you as a customer.

After reading this thread, I see there's quite a history with your engine.
Did the Dealer give you any idea what caused all the gaskets to go out at once???
That's not common, in fact I've never heard of it happening.
You better find out what's wrong with the engine before throwing good money for bad.
^^^Meaning, they put in new gaskets only to have em blow out again.

Checking the VCT solenoid to see if it's leaking would be my first diagnostic tool.
Making sure the PCV isn't plugged up is another.

No, that's just a breather hose that goes to the air cleaner box.
The PCV is on the front of the engine, driver's side, behind the header, just above and next to the transmission bell housing.

Nope. Just the black plastic spark plug cover.

The pic is of a standard model Zetec, but it is in the same location on the SVTF.
Note the radiator hose in the pic as well.
Should give some more help as to the location of the PCV.
