I have herd a lot of mixed reviews about underdrive pullies. Now that I can't find the set from FC, I am thinking of getting the FS one.

I know what they do, but my question is; dose the reduced rotation make your accesorices suffer? i.e. PS pump, AC compressor, Water pump. What have you guys experienced with them? [???:)]

ive got the esslinger udp same as the FS pulley ive got no problems sure it kills the AC and other acc but it still works and pumps out the air no problems with anything elses such as you mentioned youll notice the revs go down if ur at idle and crankin the tunes or crankin the AC other than that i like it and no problems!

is there really even a difference between udp. there's the fs, esslinger, and cfm that i know of, but which would be the easiest to install?

The ones with only one pully (the crank) and the serp belt would be the easiest. Ones with 2 or 3 pullies would be a little more involved for odvious reaisons. But as far as single pully UDP kits they are all pretty much the same install.

What if any advantages do the multiple pulley sets have over the single pulley/belt sets?

The work to change them isn't an issue for me, I'm just not sure which has the most to offer or is all this data just hype?

the 2 pcs underdrives the accessories more than the 1 pcs...iirc the af/x udps can be 3 pcs and they replace the crank, water pump, and alternator and becuase they are the smallest they underdrive them the most...fc also had 3 pcs sets

I just purchased a 'Powder' UDP... It was originally designed by 'Powder' over on Teamzx2.com but with a different belt then what he usually ships it will fit our car perfectly. I'm installing it this weekend and let you know how it works but it is the smallest UDP you've ever seen... He does occasional group buys and has them made in lots of 30 or so... He still has a few left from the last group buy if anyone is interested head over to TeamZx2.com and let Powder know I sent you... He was trying to put together a group buy over here but didn't because he would have to become a sponsor.

With a different size belt yes... Prior to the semi-regular production of Powder's UDP the zx2 guys would purchase the focus one because prior to powder's the focus ones were slightly smaller. I know because I was one of those guys... I plan on installing tonight or tomorrow and I will let you know for sure but a zetec is a zetec... The belt routing is different which is why you need a different size belt then for a zx2 but it will work...

The alt pully is and ODP too speed the alt back up... Basically undoes what the UDP did to your alt ... Only really needed if you are running a big system... But like I said it undoes part of what you were trying to do with the UDP

I have the crank and water pump pullies on from FC

I originally bought the 3 piece brand new on eBay, but the alternator one was going to be a bitch because you have to take the alt. off...so what'd i do?

Sold it some someone on here

i just installed mine today, biggest pain in the but in the world, i actually had to bye a new alternator because gas spilled in my old one (long story) i felt no gain whatsoever in performance, however, my lights dont dim because of my system anymore

I installed mine yesterday... It has made a difference not as big as the difference it made on my zx2 back when but I can deffinently tell it's there... Wish I would have had the time money and a local dyno to see how much of a difference... I deffinently would reccomend it... It has slowed the Alternator quite a bit but not enough to cause issues... I have a fused distribution block that has a built in voltmeter and it went from showing 13.8v at idle prior to install to about 13.0-13.2v at idle... I haven't had any issues with dimming yet but I just put it on yesterday and my system isn't that big... (1 350w rms sub and 4 50wrms 6x8s for a total of 550wrms)

My UDP is probably my most noticeable mod.

M lights don't dim or nothing. My AC works perfect also

and I have a pretty big system in my car - all is well :D

haha brandon, mines louder.

but the first post made me confused, does the UDP kits actully cause less life in Accessories? or give them a longer life?

It gives them longer life due to the fact that it's not as much rotating mass, and your engine doesn't have to work as hard to pull the heavy stock pulleys

U held my stock pulleys Stolle, they're ridicously heavy
