Saw the cruise thing mentioned again today, the covid was active still 17 days later. The other one said 19, take your pick. I wonder if it was in water or something. The virus is supposed to shrink back into its' protein coat when it dries.

Don't like the sound of that.

Well then, buy big-pharma stocks when it goes low again (if ever), maybe after the next wave of profit-taking by the rich guys who are occasionally driving the market up temporarily. Jump on the fiat-money train.

Yes, we are proving to have the dumbest kind of socialism. The 2-trillion dollar fiat-money package will help keep the economy afloat a little, but simply waiting for enough people to die, while waiting for a "cure" (vaccine or universally effective treatment) won't be enough to stop US from becoming an international pariah-nation, like Italy, for a long time. Mind-sets have to change, or die an ugly death... people need to stop expecting they deserve to have MORE all the time, and stop thinking "bigger is better".

I'd like to see our lawmakers be more clever, and make airplane companies, like Boeing, retrofit all their aircraft with virus-grade recirculating filters in order to qualify to receive stimulus money... then make airlines fly with half-full, staggered seat assignments (no one in front, or behind, or right next to you) AND test everybody before they board. This isn't the LAST virus that will rise up, and those procedures will come in handy again. Could reduce airline travel to saner levels, people won't fly so casually, and that will aid the environment.

I don't hold out much hope of attaching conditions to bailout money, after seeing how they handled the bank bailout, and how they are proceeding now, by simply throwing wads of cash at everything. (IMO, cruise ships should just become a thing of the past, they have always been environmental disasters anyway... let them get small or fail.) I guess sports, concerts, etc, will be forced to wait for a "cure (not happy about that, I'm already missing my favorite sports... Baseball and March Madness... hoping to enjoy Football by fall, but I doubt it).

From a more realistic point of view because none of those things are going away ever. Airplanes will fly fully loaded and cruise ships will fill the seas people are addicted to cruise ships.

We would not be in this financial mess if people would take the advice of people like David Ramsey, Suze orman and Clark Howard. If people had put money away in a emergency fund/rainy day fund people would be able to pay their expenses.
You should have at least six months put away for living expenses I know this isn't possible for everybody. But anybody who went on a vacation, bought a expensive house, had granite countertops put in, bought a new Yukon Denali could have saved money for the future. I really do hate it for the restaurant industry but let's be honest there's too many restaurants, and they are one of the number one contributors of people spending money they shouldn't spend.

Let's just imagine for one second this never goes away which it will, or we will find a solution. The world would eventually say people have to go back to normal life, and whoever doesn't make it doesn't make it. I promise you that's exactly what would happen if this doesn't end, and every single country would be on board with it at some point. The world is not going to allow itself to completely collapse to preserve a portion of life never has and never will. Obviously this is not what any of us want.

We will get through this and this will end, it will be a mark on history, and hopefully we learn from it. Try and be as positive as you can being negative only harms your life even more.

I truly believe life will go back to normal I really do. We have to find a medical solution to either treat it or prevent it. Once we do it will just be another thing humanity has conquered.

it also seems like a lot of potential diseases maybe even this one they're not sure yet come from these wet markets so here's a simple solution get rid of the wet markets.
like I said they are not a hundred percent sure but there is a possible idea that maybe it did come from that, but it's definite that we have gotten diseases from our relationship with mass slaughter of animals.

Sure, but "back to normal" will be different than it was. Many people will be more isolated, more suspicious, more judgmental, less solvent.

The formula of "people vs nature" is and always has been an absolute ultimate fail. We will never conquer nature, because we need it. We can not kill the thing that keeps us alive, unless we are actively trying to die off. Nature is evolution, and builds new things all the time (throughout the history of this 'Goldilocks' planet), in order to exploit new or existing environments in new ways. New viruses with new strategies will be created at an accelerating rate, based on opportunity. The more people there are, the more we become the favored target of microbiota... and we can never rid ourselves of microbiota, because we need it to eat.

WTF!!! The Atlantic is the oldest continuously run American magazine, founded in 1857. In their entire history, they have only endorsed one POTUS candidate... Abraham Lincoln... and they have only rebuked two other POTUS candidates... Goldwater and Trump. Face the facts, every credible and conscientious publication in the United States (and the world) have rebuked DJT, and pointed out his incredibly abundant flaws, reporting facts and reality to back up the opinion pieces that appear in their publications.

I (and others) have posted several articles, from several different respected publications, written by well known conservative voices (pundits, GOP speech writers), former and current GOP office holders, and even the conclusions of conservative think-tanks. You try to denigrate everything that doesn't agree with the way you WANT the world to be, rather than seeing how the world actually is, and what is actually happening... because of that, you have no input that matters. Just blathering on, like the other willfully ignorant DJT-lovers, and DJT himself... using a pea-shooter against a cannon, and telling yourself "winning!"

The Atlantic used to be great. Now it is just a virtue signaling rag for globalist baby killers. Yawn.

When everything is lies, where is the truth? CBS passing a video of an emergency room in Italy as New York. 40 year incumbent politicians pretending a corrupt Hotelier is the problem, not them. The problem is us. Look in a fucking mirror.

When a group wraps the flag around them using the words 'truth is not truth', then even attempts to argue what truth is or not.................well, I call that moving out to the fringe edge to be ostracized by all that can think. You don't need any enemies when you got left brain at war with right brain.

The NY Post is thousand times stepped on garbage compared to the Atlantic, one of the most respected voices in the world.

I note as well that conversation always tilts to talk of Commies quick as the ones that bring it up cannot defend their leader, and why they are forced to go there. The problem not mentioned though, is that their leader is pro-Commie too.

Thus showing the illogicality of somebody's basic thinking. Truth is not truth eh? Sucks to be in THAT world.

Definitely not a communist rag. The Atlantic is an internationally respected old magazine. It always has had several credible voices from both conservative and liberal perspectives (normally, a few more on the conservative side), since they enjoy maintaining broad-spectrum credibility and readability. They obviously have applied every effort, over their history, to avoid being cubby-holed and perceived as a partisan rag, on either side of the political spectrum. Some people just can't face realities, and reject or attack anything and everything that isn't completely consistent with what they WANT to believe.

I said (way back in a few different threads, probably a year or two ago) that I think Trump has done a couple of good things, or at least set-the-stage for the possibility of good things coming out of his efforts. My criticism of him has never included his belief that China is a dangerous foe, or that American based corporations (or any corporation that makes more money from selling products here than elsewhere) should expend more capital here, and make more investment here. My criticism of him is in the WAY he goes about trying to achieve the ends he claims to want. His natural bullying character makes him a knee-jerk punisher, and means he will make all kinds of errors based on nothing more than wanting to hurt those he sees as not being "on his side"... he only likes butt-kissers, and won't listen to good-hearted, intelligent criticisms from anyone for any reason.

Specifically, his stupid tariffs are just tantrum against China, not accurately applied. He cut out certain items from being tariffed because it advantaged him and his family, not national interests, and he placed tariffs on materials that drove several manufacturers out of the country, and failed to tariff high-tech electronics and pharmaceutical chemicals... there is circumstantial evidence that that was a political contribution calculation, not an America-first calculation, on his part. In any event, he says some good things, but he has no clue how to execute those ideas... that's what's so wrong with him.

I really like this paragraph: "Trump’s emphasis on protecting U.S. sovereignty brought to a boil a simmering national debate about the overlooked costs of globalization. A blind adherence to what the economist Dani Rodrik has called 'hyper-globalization'the idea that the interests of big corporations and the principle of market integration took precedence over widely shared prosperity and economic security—had come at the expense of domestic industries. For years, people who complained about these consequences were dismissed as isolationists or as being on 'the wrong side of history'."

Admirable...............and yet, he is conflicted. He does all that anti-Chinese railing yet lifts not one finger to yank HIS business from there. I for one cannot take any idiot/liar seriously that does that. But then I'm not an R talking points fool.

Hoax.................socialism.....................no collusion....................they want your guns..................I'm like Jesus.

The reason his butt is so big is because so many people are trying to get into it at once.
