The check engine light will not turn off for a minor engine coolant diagnosis. I have already tried with the scanner and battery disconnect. Is there a simple solution like the fuse etc.

Why don't you fix the minor engine coolant diagnosis? Could be a fuse I suppose. Look in your manual.

The check engine light is hard to ignore, but is easier once covered-up with electrical tape.

Scanner? what DTC code do you have?

I have little or no time to chat, but... P0125... common on all older cars to have a thermostat stick open, and needs to be replaced. Any 10+ year old car with the original T-stat is... Lucky?

Replace your thermostat before you need head gasket next.

Just makes the motor run cold as its probably stuck open. If it was closed the motor would overheat.

You mean the scanner won't delete the code, or as soon as you start it up again the code comes back?
If the car reads the same situation, it'll keep throwing the same code no matter how often you delete it.

Remove speedometer and take out the check engine light bulb.
