i see that alot of the focus people go with superchargers instead of turbos. is

there any specific reason as to why that is? where i am most the people talk

about turbo with their car(but they not a focus).

i think for one, there are actually more options with regard to FULL kits
Sc'er kits include procharger, vortech, powerworks, and jackson racing, and they are all complete and relatively easy to install
turbo kits include focussport (i dont think they even make a zetec one), xios (huge price tag), focus-power, c-f-m, and there is the new topspeed kit.
however most of them are not complete off the shelf and include a slightly more involving install.
PLus most superchagers (especially used ones) can be had at a discount compared to a complete turbo kit.
thats the way i see it anyway

^ agree , and yes FocusSport has not made one for Zetec yet and their not gonna make it either (FocusSport is more into Duratec)
i agree turbo kit's need more add-on's , not for as superchargers (because there ready to go) some SC's the only thing dont bring is the tune but hey that's it.... i suggest if you don't fully built your engine you should go with supercharger because you'll have decent hp... but if you fully built your engine you should go turbo all the way because superchargers give you up to so much hp but with turbo kits you can have the Hp YOU want. even unbuilt turbo's are better because of the tq they can produce is better then any of the sc'ers (from what ive seen so far). It really has to do more with your knowledge of forced induction and your willingness to take on the project.
A supercharger you can install and have it tuned ready for the road in like a day or a weekend.
A turbo kit is usually a little more involved, but usually is also more rewarding

in my opinion i prefer turbo better 100% [^] and agree with the rewarding part [;)] ... it gives more HP, TQ, and lower intake temp..... [deviltail] ..... i meant if you have an unbuilt engine you should just go SC if you want the easy way out because it's true it'll probably take you a few days and some come with tune and it's cheaper .

Couldn't agree more also better MPG! Since your not boosting all the time.

At some point, the rumour/myth of all superchargers being in boost all the time will stop...don't take that the wrong way focusguy87, it's not directed at you, it's directed at the rumour/myth.
With a Procharger (and likely all centrifugal superchargers) you are not in boost all the time.
Thats why the Procharger comes with a bypass valve that remains open (recirculating air, not building boost) at cruising/part throttle.
