I inherited a FSWERKS stage 2 turbo kit with a GT28RS from a car that I gave to my daughter.
Tom suggested that I install it on my 2.5 Duratec, and i'm going to do that just as soon as I finish my other project. But I was wondering on stock 2.5 internals how much power/torque/boost is safe.

I found this on the mazda forums, but I don't know if the MZR-L and duratec internals are the same. does anyone here know if they are or has any better info?

From the mazda forums ++++++++

The 2.0L and 2.3L engines have similar power ratings
and are generally good to about 270-300 crank horsepower until
things start to break. So as long as you keep the turbo small (a
2867 for example) and the boost on the lower side (7lbs), you
should be fine! I do not know what the power ratings are for
the 1.8L engines. I do believe the stock 2.5L engine can handle
numbers in the 400 horsepower range. (Please double check)
