Its pretty simple...

Do you guys think we should have a tuning sub forum on here ...

I would like to see one to cover all tuning related questions and I think it would help to keep the tuning threads that we get now from being lost in the shuffle.

If this does come through I would like to see participation from everyone that has any knowledge about tuning.

I thnk if we let everyone who knows anything about tuning post up what they know, it's going to be a big mess and mixed information. Different opinions and what not. It's going to turn into a bickering thread about who has the biggest balls.

I think we should let one person, i.e. Tom, write the thread sinc everyone goes to him anyway for tuning related questions.

Granted Tom definitly knows ALOT... but he doesnt know everything (no offence)

For example.. I figured out the SVT fuel issue, and made it work on my car then I gave Tom the info and he got it to work on others.

The are others on here that actually know quite abit about tuning.. plus Tom may not always be in here since he is moving to Mexico.

Well I think you and Tom should work on a general tuning stickie thread. An outline of each aspect of tuning. So that it is easy enough for those who just want adjust spark, fuel and what not.

Of course there may be more that know about tuning, but like I said earlier, if you let everyone type in what they know or think they know, it will be a thread of opinions and someone who is trying to find the nswer to a problem will see 10 different answer is will be unsure of what to do.

Maybe think about locking the thread and any info that someone would like to provide for the thread would be run by either you or Tom to verify the validity of the information to ensure the thread contains correct information.

i have to disagree about it being a bad idea cause while there may be arguing and disagreement, it will all be in one place! and much easier to sort through information!! I hate having to use the search button for multiple categories. its annoying!!

No I'm all for the Tuning Sub Forum but I'm against having EVERYBODY contribute on a free basis cuz it will end up just looking like the "Generic ECU Tuning Thread"

Great ideas. Make a tuning forum with with sub catagories generated by questions that come up from people like me that want that full on knowledge.

The problem with that thread is its simply ONE thread with all kinds of crap crammed into it. With a sub forum there should be more consistantcy in answering questions... since you wont have 50 different questions in the same thread....

and I assure you it will be moderated to keep the un-needed/ unwanted Cluster F__k from happening like it tends to do in the generic thread.

I feel some help would be good but a tuning forum could be as bad as good , people getting in over there heads like many do now and resort to the forum to tune there cars with endless basic 101 tuning questions

Before people buy the PRP they need to have a basic understanding or tuning and how engines work and about 85% of the ones I have sold dont have this and I end up spending Hrs helping through things that never should of been changed or looking at tuning files to see why something isnt working

Before anyone buys the PRP they need to buy the SCT book to get an idea of what there getting into

Then there is the XCAL and its enduser adjustability people get in over there heads with just this unit , thinking more fuel = more HP then calls and ask why its running so poor or get it to lean and get spk knock

I think something for tuning would help just not sure what way would be best to do it

Tom

over time, I think the basic quesstion/answer threads will work

because otherwise you'll be basically writing a book to post on the forum...

I would help contribute if I were allowed to.
I think it would be nice if you'ld help out, along with 1turbofocus and a few others.

Now this isnt going to be a "step by step" on how to tune your car but more of a "I'm stuck and need help" or "how do you do ....." or what you should be looking for, what values do I need, and so on kind of forum.

We're going to need more than 36 votes to get this going...

Thats pretty pathectic that only 36 people out of the 235 that have read this thread have voted....

This is to help YOU guys.. you have to let us know if you want one.
