Is there any point of getting a tune if you have the catalytic converter on the header?

I have a 2.3L Duratec with a Cosworth intake, CFM Throttle body and FocusSport Cat back exhaust.

Also if yes, would I have to return the computer to stock before going to get a smog?

I live in California.

Yea, I'd do a tune w/ a converter. Do they check to see if you have a converter? Or just read the obd2 for codes?

I'd throw a pr of cams in too.

Depends on where you go but they are supposed to plug into the OBD II port, do a visual check and then run it on the machine.

With your mods YES you need to get a tune , you also need a wide band air fuel gauge
