Well I'm trying to use a phatnoise system on my pioneer head unit but phatnoise only makes their units for factory radio Cd/changer plugs. So I was wondering is it possible to hook up a factory cd/changer to an aftermarket head unit?????

after reading through their website, im going to have to say No it won't work.

their systems only use the ford stock components... so unless you know your pioneer HU works with ford cdc-controls then your SOL.

perhaps you can find some kind of adaptor for pioneer HU -> adaptor -> car HU..

-----------Scratch that ^^

website claims it's fully interoperable with the following sony HUs

i like the idea of swapping out the pioneer for a sony... but whatever works in the end is all that matters.

instead of going that route, i've seen a really really nice headunit that accepts mini-hard drives (most likely proprietary) with tons of albums. can't remember what it's called. something produced in europe.

i couldn't find it... but found this by kenwood, uses the same cartridges.
