So, as i have stated many times, I am new to working on cars. I was informed that my trans pan has a slight leak, but it isn't bad and isn't needed to be done right away. My question is, is this something I could do myself, or, would it be better to have a professional do it?

Yea you can diy... Get a filter & the right amount of fluid. Get the car up on jackstands, loosen all the bolts & then remove either all the front or rear bolts & then start removing the ones on the sides towards the ones you removed, so the pan is tipping to drain some of the fluid. You'll find it'll possibly contain 1-3 qtrs. Remove the filter & install the filter & pan....Use a socket & extension w/ a 3/8 ratchet using the palm of your hand & slowly tighten evenly all around... Don't over tighten.
