This morning I started my car and noticed that the traction control light was on , thinking that I had accidentally tapped the switch releasing the handbrake , I switched it off...nothing happened the light remained on, a few angry taps later and still no joy, it was all ok last night, so gremlins must have got to it overnight, I have taken the switch out and given it a clean-up , no change ..any ideas anyone ????

Is it wet/snowy? I'd probably be tempted to disco the battery and clear the error and see if it comes back, otherwise it might be something like a loose abs sensor?

ABS light on too? On my car the ABS and traction control share the same fuse.

Could be a no harm gremlin. I don't have abs or traction control on my 03 automatic and every now and then the traction control light on the dash will come on when starting the car after it's sat for a day or so. It will stay on a short bit and then go away. Other than that all's ok.
